Albert Einstein gave an easy and apt description, “The hardest thing in the world to understand is income tax.” But the Income Tax Department likes to differ with the physicist and attempts to make us think otherwise. Accountants make the best of the common man’s confusion regarding the tax that he has to pay consciously once a year to the government in addition to the scores of other types that he does daily. The IT (Income Tax) Department is taking aid of IT (information technology) to help make things easier for us lowly lost tax payers. The result is Sampark 2006 – The return preparation software. And since the department is encouraging widespread usage of the software to deprive unscrupulous accountants charging Rs 600 just to fill up a one page form, I am spreading the message.

This income tax computing / calculating software is available free of cost and can be freely duplicated (freeware in downloader terms). Those with high speed connections can click here to download a single 36 MB file (and run Setup.exe file after completion of download for the installation).
